Somewhere you did not buy a SIM card by giving a Fake Identity!


The government said that in relation to selling SIM cards based on Fake Identity, there have been 938 complaints related to 65,991 mobile connections in last five years and mobile service connection has been discontinued in all such cases.

In the written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Customs Minister Manoj Sinha said that the licensing services sector has received complaints that mobile phone simcards are being sold on the basis of Fake Identity Proof. He said during the last five years, 938 complaints related to 65,991 mobile connections have been received by various sources in the telecom sector licensing sector regarding the sale of simcard based on Fake Identity.


These sources include public grievance portal, law enforcement agencies, state police authorities, ICICI bank, post letter, e-mail and win-government organizations. Sinha said that the mobile connection given on the basis of Fake Identity has been discontinued and FIR has been filed by the concerned telecommunications service provider in the police.
